Magic-Sculpt epoxy clay is transforming art creation.

Fine art has been described as the visual representation of an idea. For artists is not always an easy task to convert their ideas into a physical visual form. There is always a search for methods, techniques, and mediums to achieve that goal.

Magic Sculpt is a growing medium for all types of artists. It handles much like the wet clays used by artists for centuries. However, because it is self-hardening it does not have to fired. And unlike fired clays it will not shrink or crack as it cures.

This opens a whole new way to use to clay. Wet clays cannot be put over an armature and then fired as the armature will cause it to explode or crack as the clay shrinks in the firing. Magic-Sculpt epoxy clay can be sculpted over a wire armature or most anything else in order to form a sculpture.

Use Magic-Sculpt over easily carved materials

For example, a base sculpture can be carved from foam. Magic-Sculpt can then be applied over the surface to convert a soft non-permanent structure into a sculpture that can withstand the outdoor elements and even be submerged.

Use easily structured and assembled armatures

Create a sculpture from wood, wire, screen, pvc pipe, found objects… the list is endless. Then convert the structure to a unified object by covering and modifying with Magic-Sculpt.

Taxidermists use epoxy clay to accomplish molding, sculpting, and adhering throughout their mounting process. Magic-Sculpt is a two-component sculpting epoxy. To use Magic-Sculpt, simply mix equal parts of the resin and the hardener and knead it together until a uniform color is obtained.

The epoxy putty can then be shaped, sculpted, and smoothed with a wet finger or modeling tools. It will harden in 2 to 3 hours depending on weather and studio conditions. Magic-Sculpt will adhere tenaciously to most any surface including foam mannequins and models. After hardened it can be sanded and painted.

Fish taxidermists use it for setting fish eyes, rebuilding shrunken areas, repairing damage, hiding seams, smoothing heads, rebuilding tongues, rebuilding sclerotic capsules and fiberglass repairs. Magic-Sculpt can be used to create a texture mold from the original fish and then used to texture soft Magic-Sculpt on the sculpt.

Bird taxidermists will find it useful for repairing shot holes in bills and legs, as well as rebuilding eyelids.

Use in mammal taxidermy for sculpting around jaw sets, noses, eyes, lips, foot pads, ear butts, and other modifications on the mannequin. It can be used for reconstructing broken antler tines. Dries rock hard and will never shrink or crack. Accepts all types of paint when dry.

It is available in 1 lb., 5 lb., and 20 lb. kits.
